Slab material can be ordered in standard sizes for use by your fabricator/installer and shipped from our facilities in Schuyler VA.

Alberene Soapstone is the ideal choice for architectural projects both exterior and interior. Soapstone is as remarkably functional as it is gorgeous.

Soapstone is a nontoxic substance which is impervious to liquids, most acids and most bases. As such, it weathers well without warping, dissolving or spalling.

Soapstone does not require sealing, Surface treatments need only be applied for esthetic reasons.

Alberene Soapstone products have been widely used in architectural applications for over a century. Projects have ranged from simple home and garden applications to large buildings and monuments, including:

  • The Lincoln Bedroom and Lincoln Sitting room fireplaces - The White house.
  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Agricultural Library - Beltsville, Maryland.

Alberene soapstone has been a favorite with artists of all skill levels for its ease of workability and suitability for both interior and exterior works.

The outstanding characteristics of Alberene soapstone are:

Landscaping

Alberene landscape and garden stone is gleaned from stockpiles of previously produced material, some of which dates back over 100 years. The stone is recovered from the quarries by hand, cleaned, graded and palletized. There is no limit to its many applications.
